NEW CD: „TIMELESS“ , 08/2026, enja records
Following the albums ‘Isn't it Romantic’ (released on BMC Records in 2021) and “Ellington” (released on Enja Records in 2024), Aki Takase and Daniel Erdmann are now performing their third duo programme entitled “Timeless”.
This mainly consists of new compositions that the two have developed over time.
Time is the central theme of the programme. What is time, what is silence, how expandable is it? Perhaps with the help of music we can travel into the future and into the past?
In any case, working together is extremely important for Aki Takase and Daniel Erdmann, and so they are in constant exchange and trying out new compositions and formats.
The two are now also working on something bigger, the ‘Timeless Orchestra’, in which different generations of musicians will come together.
A project of transmission: experiences are to be shared with the young generation of musicians, and of projection: where is our music going? What is happening now and what can the future bring? The linear timeline is being broken down, and we want to combine the good things from the past with ideas for the future in the present.
The aim is to create a new kind of music that is not bound by time.
